Who/what is more responsible for you becoming a JW?
by minimus inis it family, friends, idealism???

The injustice in the world, depression and toxic parents made jwdom seem like the solution and they made their way of life seem so attractive.
It was what I needed at the time, I think.
When I became unhappy with it all I should have walked then but I believed the problem was me not them. I was a miserable dub for another 5 years before finally quitting.

con artist JW
by outsmartthesystem inso my good ol soon to be ex father in law told me a few years ago (before i had told him of my horrible apostate ideas) about a "client" of his.
my fil used to be involved in the insurance/finance industries.
he had a lady client that was about 20 years older than him.

If he is truly that devious I would be concerned for her safety.

i have an answer.. how can you tell someone is vegan or a vegetarian?.
answer - you wont have to, because they will tell you every single day over in over in food post, recipes and bragging about how good they feel.

EMOTIONS can tear you apart....but, not if you IDENTIFY their SOURCE
by Terry inmany people don't know why they "feel" what they feel.
they fall in love with the wrong person.
they cry unexpectedly.

This is a brilliant topic Terry.
Really made me think as I have been plagued by depression since as early as I can remember.
Controlling black thoughts while feeling worthless and undeserving of either friendship or kindness is very hard but thanks to Lady Lee I managed to identify the source and am working on trying to give myself more value.
I stopped bike riding at the age of 12 and re-discovered it at age 47. I love it!
Edited to add: Most of my mad impusle decisions/purchases led by emotion or gut instinct have led to the most fun and I have yet to regret any decision made by this means.

This site and the people on it are terrific
It is like having a huge extended international family who all look out for each other.
If I wasn't an atheist I would be remembering Jesus' words "by their love....." you know the rest.

Sadly the first part was true and then she got better at self delusion and settled for drudgery for the rest of her life.
